"It has come to my attention that
there has been a change in the specifi-
cations of the Glen Canyon Diversion
Tunnel. Mr. Jerman, can you explain
the enlargement to permit the diversion
of the full flow of the Colorado River
around the dam?"

"This was done to alleviate a possi-
bility of delay of the project by down
river interests. It is not anticipated
that the entire flow will be passed. I
feel there was no intent to prevent stor-
age as soon as practicable behind the
dam."

"The subject was gone into at great
length at the Upper Colorado River Com-
mission meeting. The Bureau was convinced
that it was better to spend something like
$1,000,000.00 to enlarge the tunnel than
to risk a delay. It is not the intention
to release more water than necessary."

"I think the first item under new busi-
ness should be the matter of cooperation
with the Agencies of the Federal Govern-
ment."

A motion was made and seconded authorizing the Direc-
tor to enter into and sign for the Board cooperative agreements
with the U. S. G. S. for ground water studies up to $50,000.
and gauging stations on the Western Slope projects in the amount
of $9,000.

"How are the locations of gauging sta-
tions determined on the Western Slope?"

"I would like to ask for better liaison
between the Board and the two conservancy
districts of the Western Slope. Neither
the Western Slope members nor the two con-
servancy districts knew anything in advance
concerning proposed gauging stations, and
I feel they should be considered in the
locations of these stations."

"The Board will furnish the list of the
gauging stations in the Western Slope. The
