RE: STEVENS LAKE ENLARGEMENT PROJECT
SMALL DAM SITE GRANT

Dear Bill,

As indicated in my letter to you this past July, the pagosa Area
Water and Sanitation District plans to proceed with the above-
mentioned project, and per your request noted in your letter of
April 30, 1996, we are in the process of updating the feasibility
study. We request the Colorado Water Conservation Board's
consideration of a Small Darn Site grant to assist the District in
funding this study. The cost is estimated to not exceed $10,000
and will be completed by Davis Engineering Service, Inc. Enclosed
for your review is a Plan of Study for the Stevens Project.

As you know, in 1995 the District was awarded a $5,000 grant
towards the Martinez Creek study. As indicated in my previous
letter to you, this project has been delayed and we feel it is in
the best of public interest to withdraw the grant at this time.
Perhaps we will make another approach to the CWCB at a future
date.
