Water is
supplied to a service area population of about 8,000 persons.

Stevens Lake is a part of the District's raw water supply system. The reservoir has a capacity of
635 acre-feet and is located on Dutton Creek about five miles northwest ofPagosa Springs. Due
to substantial growth in the Pagosa Springs area, the District is planning a number of major
capital improvements in the next few years including the expansion of storage capacity in
Stevens Lake.

The Stevens Lake enlargement was first reviewed by CWCB staff and by the Board in 1992 and
1993. The project was authorized for $1,912,000 in HB 93-1273.
