.

,

Mr. Haberl Fischer of lhe Denver Water Board on H.B. 1357.

!

Mr. McDonald then brought the Board's attention to the

,
~
,

staff's memorandum (see Appendix R) concerning the Starkville

project. Mr. Robbins moved, seconded by Mr. Vandemoer, that

the Board adopt the staff's recommendation as set forth in

the subject memorandum. There being no further discussion,

the motion was passed on an unanimous voice vote.

Mr. MacFarlane then provided the Attorney General's

report. He commented primarily on the trial judge's decision

in the Huston groundwater case, noting that there were a

number of uncertainties associated with the court's review.

Mr. MacFarlane responded to a few questions from Board

members in this regard.

Oecause Dr. Danielson had to excuse himself earlier,

there was no report from the State Engineer.

Mr. McDonald then provided the Director's report. He

commented briefly on the status on the South Platte

channelization project below Chatfield, the South Platte

River Basin study which is now in progress, the status of

matters concerning the sale of water from Ruedi Reservoir,

and Issues concerning the operation of the Colorado River

Main Stem Reservoir. He responded to a few questions from

Board members with respect to various of these items.

The final matter to come before the Board was a brief

report from Mr. Fetcher, the Board's representative to the

-14-

.
