AfLer <br /> <br />some discussion, Mr. Jackson moved, seconded by Mr. <br /> <br />Vandemoer, that the Board: <br /> <br />J <br />'~ <br /> <br />} <br />, <br /> <br />(1) Support the President's appropriation requests <br />for the Closed Basin, Fryingpan-Arkansas, <br />Dolores, and Dalias Creek projects; <br /> <br />(2) Support the President's appropriation requests <br />for the Grand Valley and Paradox Valley <br />salinIty control projects; <br /> <br />(3) Request Congress to provide funding <br />for construction on the Narrows and the <br />Animas-La Plata projects In the amount of <br />$400,000 and $2.87 million, respectively; and <br /> <br />(4) Request Congress to provide one million <br />dollars to continue planning on the <br />San Miguel, West Divide, FruItland Mesa, and <br />Savory-Pot Hook projects. <br /> <br />Mr. Johnston asked if the components of the motion could <br /> <br />be dealt with ad seriatim. Since he had some reservations <br /> <br />about the Board's position on the salinity control projects. <br /> <br />Mr. Stapleton, the attorney for the Lower South Platte Water <br /> <br />Conservancy District, also Inquired of Mr. Jackson as to <br /> <br />whether or not his motion was intended to confirm the Board's <br /> <br />previously adopted priorIties for water projects, which <br /> <br />prioritIes were adopted In 1973 with the Narrows project as <br /> <br />the highest priority project.
