<br />14 <br /> <br />2. FPR 01-539: El Paso County and Incorporated freas, Flood Insurance Study dated March <br />1997 was prepared by the Federal Emergency Management Agency. It includes both <br />approximate and detailed floodplain delineations for numerous flooding sources within <br />unincorporated and incorporated portions of the county. Community officials were notified of <br />the CWCB's proposed designation action, and meetings were set up, when requested by local . <br />staff, to discuss the designation process. CommUJ).ity officials were generally receptive to the <br />CWCB's proposed designation action. The propos~d action for the EI Paso County floodplain <br />information is designation and approval by the BOlu-d in order to meet statutory requirements. <br />The CWCB is also preparing a new hydrology ad~endum to provide technical. information to <br />supplement the approximate floodplains shown on the 1997 Flood Insurance Rate Maps. <br /> <br />3. FPR 01-540: EI Paso County and Incorporated Areas, Flood Insurance Study dated <br />August 1999 was prepared by the Federal Emergen,cy Management Agency. It updates the 1997 <br />study (resolution No. 01-539) for some stream rllaches, and includes both approximate and <br />detailed. floodplain delineations for numerous flooding sources within unincorporated and <br />incorporated portions of the county. Communit~ officials were notified of the CWCB's <br />proposed designation action, and meetings were se~ up, when requested by local staff, to discuss <br />the designation process. Community officials :were generally receptive to the CWCB's <br />proposed designation action. The proposed action for the E1 Paso County floodplain <br />information is designation and approval by the Board in order to meet statutory requirements. <br />This resolution will also rescind the superseded floodplain information from the March 1997 <br />study (resolution No. 01-539). The CWCB is also preparing a new hydrology addendum to <br />provide technical information to supplement the ~pproximate floodplains shown on the 1999 <br />Flood Insurance Rate Maps. . <br /> <br />Note: Floodplain Information on Fountain Creek will :be updated in the future once the U.S. Army . <br />Corps of Engineers completes new hydrologic and hydraulic snldies that are currently being <br />conducted. Significant physical changes took place along the Fountain Creek during the 1999 flood <br />event. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATIONS <br />The approximate and detailed floodplain information ~eing considered for designation and approval . <br />as outlined in Resolutions Nos. 01-538.through 01-540 meets the applicable requirements of the <br />Board's "Floodplain Designation and Approval Rules", therefore designation and approval is <br />recommended for those resolutions. . <br /> <br />PROPOSED MOTION . <br />The Board, having reviewed this memorandum regarcting resolution Nos. 00-538 through 00-540, <br />now moves as follows: To designate and approve as detailed and approximate 100-year <br />floodplain information the subject reports and maps ~or Resolution Nos. 01-538,01-539,01-540. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Flood Protection.
