<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />37-60.5-102. Retail municipal water-savinq proarams. (1) Within <br /> <br />2 two years from the effective date of this article, each agency, utility <br /> <br />3 or other entity with retail municipal water distribution responsibilities <br /> <br />4 shall develop and make publicly available a program pursuant to which such <br /> <br />5 agency, utility or other entity shall seek to save or encourage the saving <br /> <br />6. by its retail municipal water users of water that is reasonable to save, <br /> <br />7 taking into account the cost-effectiveness, environmental so~,dness and <br /> <br />8 practicality of water-saving measures under conditions that apply within <br /> <br />9 the service area of such agency, utility or other entity. Any such agency, <br /> <br />10 utility or other entity may make changes to this program, and shall make <br /> <br />11 these changes publicly available, at anytime to reflect changed conditions. <br /> <br />12 Any program developed pursuant to this section shall reflect consideration <br /> <br />13 of at least the following measures: <br /> <br />14 <br /> <br />(a}Local adoption of state standards, if any, for water7using appliances; <br /> <br />15 (b) Water rate structure reform measures designed to communicate to <br /> <br />16 water users the cost of the next increment of water supply; <br /> <br />17 (c) 'Distribution system leak detection and repair; <br /> <br />18 (d) Installation of water meters on all unmetered residential, in- <br /> <br />19 dustrial, and commercial installations; and <br /> <br />20 (e) Water use regulatory measures, where applicable, including measures <br /> <br />21 to reduce the amount of water applied to outdoor nonagricultural uses. <br /> <br />22 37-60.5-103. Plans for water wholesalinq authorities. Any entity <br /> <br />23 charged with the duty of wholesaling water to wholesale municipal cus- <br /> <br />24 tomers in this state shall develop and make publicly available a plan, <br /> <br />25 within two and one-half years from the effective date of this article or <br /> <br />26 within two and one-half years from the effective date of the entity's for- <br /> <br />-3- <br /> <br />1174 <br />
