"A River's Journey - Water in the <br />West" program provides some of the materials to schools to achieve this mission, <br /> <br />The Colorado Foundation for Agriculture <br /> <br />The project sponsor is the Colol1ldo Foundation ror Agriculture (CFA), The Colorado Foundation for <br />Agriculture is a SO I (cX3) nOI-for-profit educational cOlponltion, incorporaled in 1991. Its mission is 10 <br />foster communication, cooperation and coordination between the educational system and the food, fiber <br />and natural resource industries; to serve the ptople and inform them about agricullu'e, its values, needs, <br />opportunities and challenges; and to provide support far the development of educational resources for <br />agricultural literacy, <br /> <br />The Colorado Foundation for Agriculture has assumed the;responsibility for producing the Colorado <br />Reader and Ag in the Classroom programs from the Colorado Department of Agriculture, The Colorado <br />Foundation for Agriculture is the only Colorado organizatibn that publishes and distributes the Colorado <br />Reader series. Since the Colorado Foundation for Agricullu'e took OVer responsibility for the Colorado <br />Readers, it has produced readen; on a variety of topics such as Livestock, Com, Whea~ Dairy, Wildlife, <br />Forests, Animal Science, Weeds, Recycling, Integrated Pest Management and Water and distributed over <br />five million Colorado Readers, <br /> <br />The Colorado Foundation for Agriculture utilizes represeqtatives from industry, state agencies, universities <br />and Cooperative Extension to produce each issue of the C610rado Reader series. <br />, <br />] <br />In addition to the Colorado Reader series, CF A coordinareh the Ag in the Classroom programs within <br />Colorado. CFA has also published several activity books, ,~~Iuding "Understanding Water", "Wool and <br />Sheep," and "Wildlife." The "Understanding Wate'" activity book has been very popular with educators <br />and students, The fact that it has been reprinted three times is representative of edu.:ator demands for <br />current materials about water, <br /> <br />Previous CD-ROM Titles <br /> <br />CF A previously developed and distributed the award-wi~ing interactive CD-ROM "A Century of <br />Seasons" ~hich highlighted Colorado's centennial fanns "I'd ranches and addressed issues of' urban growth, <br />agricultUre and sustainability, <br /> <br />Developer Emmett Jordan has also produced a variety orCD.ROM multimedia and interactive touch <br />screen projects for such clients as the Colorado Rockies, Colorado Water Conservation Board, Pro Rodeo <br />
