<br />Research Results <br /> <br />The results of both regional and state-level research efforts <br />are summarized in the enclosed, blue-bannered newspaper supplement <br />(dated November, 1981). A broad range of options for responding <br />to the depletion of the ogallala Aquifer is also outlined. <br /> <br />Colorado Advisory Committee Recommendations <br /> <br />The advisory committee's draft recommendations are contained <br />in the enclosed, orange-bannered newspaper supplement (dated <br />January, 1982). Note the insert to the supplement which reflects <br />the recommendations as finally approved by the advisory committee. <br /> <br />Two of the advisory committee's final <br />been transmitted to the CWCB (see attached <br />1982, from Morgan Smith and Monte Pascoe). <br />are: <br /> <br />recommendations have <br />memo dated April 2, <br />These recommendations <br /> <br />(1) that the State of Colorado assist in funding a <br />detailed feasibility study of the Trans-County <br />project, and <br /> <br />(2) that the State of Colorado investigate the <br />feasibility of diverting water within the state <br />to the High Plains region. <br /> <br />Discussion <br /> <br />As you will see from agenqa item 10, I am recommending to the <br />Board that it initiate participation in and funding for the pro- <br />posed Trans-County project.
