<br />FPR 195 <br /> <br />COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD <br />B23 State Centennial Building <br />1313 Sherman Street <br />Denver, ColOrado 80203 <br /> <br />^,ugust 1'5, 1982 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />WHEREAS, A floodplain information report entitled "Flood <br />Hazard Study, South Fork Rio Grande and Rio Grande in the <br />vicini ty of South Fork, Colorado," dated October, 1980, has been <br />prepared by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Soil Conservation <br />3ervice, at the request of Rio Grande County and the Rio Grande <br />Soil Conservation District; and <br /> <br />',mS'l.BAS, saLl reoort "esccibes and outlines the flood;Jlain <br />data and infor'1lation for the stOt~ and floodwater runoff channels <br />or basins of the study area; an, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Boarr] of County Commissioners of Ri0 Grande <br />County has requester] the Coloril.do Ii/ater Conservation Board to <br />clesignate and aporove the floodl)lain areas "s, set forth in the <br />aforesaid report; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br />1971, r"quires <br />the orevention <br /> <br />Section 37-60-106(1), Colorado Revised Statutes <br />the Colorado Watet Conservation Board to assist in <br />of floods ancl flood damages therefrom; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-301 and 30-28-111, Colorado Revised <br />Statutes 1973, provide that such legislative bodies of local <br />jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on or <br />along any storm or floodwater rUnoff channel or basin only after <br />designation and approval by the Colorado Water Conservation <br />Board; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1)(c), Colorado Revised Statutes <br />1973, directs the Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate <br />and approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins and to <br />make such <1esignations available to legislative bodies of local <br />jurisdictions; and <br /> <br />WHEREI\S, the staff of the Board has reviewed said report and <br />does hereby recommend to the Colorado Water Conservation Board <br />that the Board designate and a[:)prove as floodplain .,reas those <br />areas inundated by a 100-year flood (intermediate regional flood) <br />as described by the floodwater surface elevations and profiles in <br />sa in re90rt; <br />
