WHEREAS, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Albuquerque
District, has previously completed a report entitled "Flood Plain
Information, Rio Grande, Monte Vista, Colorado," dated June,
1969, which contains the existing floonplain information on a
portion of the Rio Grande; and '

WHEREAS, the Colorado Water Conservation Board, as requested
by the Monte Vista City Council, by Resolution Number 7, adopted
January 14, 1970, approved and designated the floodplain
described in said report; and

WHEREll,S, a new report entitled "Flood Insurance Study, City
of 110nte Vista, Rio Grande County, Colorado," dated March 30,
198'2, has been prepar-ed by Camp Dresser & McKee, Inc., under
contract with the Federal Emergency Management Agency; and

WHEREAS, said new r-P.por-t describes and
floodplain data and infor-mation for the storm
runoff channels or basins of the study ar-ea; and

WHEREAS, the City of Monte vista has requested the Color-ado
Water- Conservation Board to designate and approve the floodplain
areas as set forth in the aforesaid report; and

WHEREAS,

designation and approval by the Colorado Water Conservation
Boar-d; and
