HJR 1001 Water POlicy Study

Introduction

House Joint Resolution No. 1001. First Extraordinary
Session of the Fifty-Sixth General Assembly. states in relevant
part:

That the Colorado Water Conservation Board
and eight legislators appointed as set
forth below are directed to study to the
extent they determine necessary the state's
current drought preparedness. water
policies. and statutes and report to the
General Assembly by January 15. 1989. its
[sic] findings and suggestions for changing
laws relating to the state's water
resources. Such study shall be directed to
the issues raised at the July 14 water
forum held in the old Supreme Court
chambers and the fOllowing issues:.....
The study need not comment on each issue.
The...Board and the eight legislators may
consult. as may be required. with the
Governor's office. with the Department of
Natural Resources. and the Department of
Health during the course of the study.
This study shall not require addition of
staff to any agency or any additional
appropriation to any agency.

The July 14 water forum refers to the public forum on state
water policy called and hosted by Representative Chris
Paulson.
