I

I

COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD MEETING MINUTES
Colorado ute Electric Association Auditorium
Montrose, Colorado

May 12, 1978

The Colorado Water Conservation Board met, pursuant to notice, at
9:00 a.m., Frederick V. Kroeger, Vice Chairman, presiding.

MR. KROEGER: I'll now call the meeting to order. Mr. Stapleton cannot
be with us today because of another commitment. We will move right to
the first agenda item, the approval of the minutes of January 19, 1978.
Is there a motion that they be approved as submitted?

MR. GORMLEY: So move.

MR. VANDEMOER: Second.

MR. SPARKS: There is one correction, Mr. Chairman. I don't know how
we missed it. But on page 49 at line 4, which reads "the Eldorado
Guage," that should be the "Lobatos Guage." It is the same language
but different words. I don't know how that got by us.

MR. KROEGER: will you move that the minutes be approved as corrected?

MR. GORMLEY: Yes.

MR. VANDEMOER: Yes.

MR. KROEGER: All in favor say "aye." (Ayes.) Those opposed? (NO
response.) The minutes are approved.

The second agenda item is the water requirements of the Colorado ute
Electric Association, and here to present this is Mr. John Bugas.
John, will you come up?

MR. BUGAS: Thank you. First of all, let me say that I am glad to have
the opportunity to review the water requirements of the Colorado ute
Electric Association, both present and, let's say, the near future. I
don't know what the ultimate water requirements will be, but at least
we can predict some of our requirements in the future.

Particularly, I am pleased to be here and join you, because tomorrow we
are going to celebrate a very important event, and that is the Dallas
Creek Project.

When I first joined Colorado ute, one of the duties that I took on was
to become deeply involved in the Colorado River storage Project and the
Participating Projects, because they were an important part of our
operation. And at least we are seeing that programs of Colorado River
Storage Project power have been completed, but not a great deal of
progress has been done on the water participating projects; at least
we have got a couple of steps taken in that direction.
