<br />. <br /> <br />(9 <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />The U A WCD has operated the North Fork Reservoir since 1979 for domestic, municipal, industrial, <br />recreational, and augmentation water supply. The reservoir is at elevation 11,400 feet and is located <br />approximately 10 miles from Maysville on the North Fork of the South Arkansas River. This project <br />involves replacement of the outlet gate, improved access, increased spillway capacity, seepage control, <br />and raising the dam IS-feet to achieve a storage capacity of 500 acre-feet. Project design has been <br />completed and will be let out for bids in November of 2005. The project is located on Forest Service <br />property and will require a special use permit and an environmental assessment prior to construction. <br /> <br />30. Beaver Reservoir Comoanv Reservoir Rehabilitation <br /> <br />Authorization: Severance Tax Fund <br />Water Source: Minnesota Creek <br />Terms of Loan: $128,SOO@2.S0% for 30-years <br /> <br />County: Gunnison <br />Project Yield: 1,620 acre-feet <br />Project Type: Reservoir Rehabilitation <br /> <br />Beaver Reservoir is located in Gunnison County at elevation 8,loo-ft. The existing dam is 113 feet high <br />and has a storage capacity of 1,620 acre-feet. The reservoir is used to store and regulate the release of <br />irrigation water to a 3,400-acre service area. In 1958 the Company built the reservoir, and in 1995 the <br />Company borrowed $415,000 from CWCB to install a liner to address seepage problems identified by the <br />SEO. This project consists of stabilizing the reservoir liner and to replace the hydraulic valve and gate on <br />the intake end of the outlet structure. The project is currently under construction by Farnsworth <br />Construction Company, Paonia, Colorado and is anticipatcd to be complete in the spring of2oo6. <br /> <br />Proiects Under Desio <br /> <br />I. Rvan Gulch Reservoir Comoanv <br />Authorization: SB 99-173 <br />Water Source: Big Thompson River <br />Terms of Loan: $317,Soo@4.2S%for30years <br /> <br />Rvan Gulch Dam Rehabilitation <br />County: Larimer- S. of Loveland <br />Project Yield: 645 ac.ft. <br />Project Type: Dam Rehabilitation <br /> <br />This project is the rehabilitation of the Ryan Gulch Dam, which includes the construction of a new <br />spillway, lining the upstream face of the dam with a clay liner, sleeving the existing 24-inch outlet pipe, <br />and constructing a new upstream controlled inlet works. Boyle Engineering, Inc. of Denver has <br />completed the final design plans, which has been reviewed and spproved by the State Engineer's Office. <br />Bids were received to constroct the planned improvements, but were outside the project budget. The <br />Ditch Company has retained the services of a new design consultant. Final design plans have been <br />completed and submitted to the SEO for review. Construction is tentatively scheduled for March of2006 <br /> <br />2. North Poudre Irril!ation Comoanv Miner's Lake Rehabilitation <br />Authorization: Serverance Tax Trust Fund County: Larimer <br />Water Source: Cache La Poudre River Project Yield: 417 AF <br />Terms of Loan: $608,000 @3.25% for 20 years Project Type: Reservoir Rehabilitation <br /> <br />The North Poudre Irrigation Company owns and operates 22 storage reservoirs and approximately 200 <br />miles of ditches to a service area of 42,000 acres. Currently Miners Lake has been restricted to a storage <br />capacity of2S7 AF by the SEO's due to an aging outlet works, inadequate spillway, and seepage along <br />the toe. The existing dam is a Class 2 facility, 800' in length, and 18-ft. in height. The project involves <br />regarding the upstream dam face and adding rip rap, regarding and reinforcing the downstream face of the <br />dam, adding a filter blanket and toe drain and enlarging the spillway. The project is being designed by <br />Ron Slosson, P.E., Ft. Collins and is scheduled for construction in the fall of2ooS. <br /> <br />55 <br />
