Platte Aquifer Project Yield: 800 ac.ft. <br />Terms of Loan: $193,500 @2.S0% for 30 years Project Type: Siphon Replacement <br /> <br />The Buffalo Farms LLC is comprised ofa number of farms with a total combined irrigated land of 1,000 <br />acres. The farms utilized II existing wells to irrigate the 1,000 acres, growing com, alfalfa, beans, and <br />wheat. The 11 wells are currently being augmented under the Logan Well Users plan. The proposed <br />project consists of I recharge well at the river, and 6,OOO-ft. of pipe to a 22 acre existing recharge site. <br />The proposed project will eliminate the need for the Development to be under the Logan Well Users and <br />will provide sufficient augmentation credits to cover their depletion from the II wells. The project is <br />currently under construction and is approximately 80% complete. Buffalo Farms will be asking for an <br />additional $81,000 in loan funds at the November 2005 Board Meeting to cover cost overruns. <br /> <br />27. Colorado River Water Conservation District - Enlarl!ement of Elkhead Reservoir <br /> <br />Authorization: Construction Fund <br />Water Source: Yampa <br />Terms of Loan: $11,000,000 @ 3.75% for 20-years <br /> <br />County: Moffat and Routt <br />Project Yield: 12,000 acre.feet <br />Project Type: Reservoir Enlargement <br /> <br />The Colorado River Water Conservation District is located in Glenwood Springs and is comprised of all or <br />part of IS counties that are in the nOrthern half of the Colorado River drainage basin. The District conserve&, <br />uses, safeguards, and develops water resources of the Colorado River and its tributaries to which the State is <br />entitled to under the Colorado River Compact. The River District in conjunction with the Upper Colorado .~ <br />Recovery Program are going to enlarge Elkhead Reservoir by raising the existing dam 24-feet, for the <br />purpose of obtaining additional storage to support endangered fish species downstream and for municipal, <br />industrial, and agricultural use. The project was awarded to Aims Construction, Denver, co. The <br />Contractor is currently working on the outlet works and labyrinth spillway. Completion is scheduled for the <br />fall of 2006. <br /> <br />28. Hillh Line Canal COmDany - Smith Arrovo SiDhon Reolacement <br /> <br />Authorization: Severance Tax Fund <br />Water Source: Arkansas River <br />Terms of Loan: $4S8,S40@ 2.25% for 20-years <br /> <br />County: Otero <br />Project Yield: 100,000 acre-feet <br />Project Type: Siphon Replacement <br /> <br />The High Line Canal Company diverts water from Arkansas River near the Town of Boone to a 100,000 acre <br />service area. The Smith Arroyo Siphon, approximately 3oo.ft. in length, is a key component of the canal <br />system, which was constructed in the 1920's. The existing 60ft. diameter, 3oo-ft long concrete encased wood <br />stove pipe has been deteriorating for a number of years and is in need of replacement. This project involves <br />replacing the existing siphon with a 72-inch diameter reinforced concrete pipe. The project design has been <br />completed and is currently being let out for bids, with construction anticipated to commence in November of <br />2005. <br /> <br />29.
