The Board will be provided with an update of the status of the Statewide Water Supply Initiative <br />(SWSI). The presentation will include three primary topics: I) SWSI Current and Future Activities; <br />2) Adoption of the two mission statements regarding the 80 percent projects and planning processes <br />and the 20 percent unmet need as described in Section II of the SWSI report; and 3) a Staff <br />Roundtable to discuss how Section II can be incorporated into future Section activities. This <br />memorandum contains three attachments that should be reviewed in preparation for this agenda item. <br />Attachment A is a general overview of potential future scope activities. Attachment B is a copy of <br />Section II of the SWSI report. Attachment C is a copy of the objectives section of the CWCB's last <br />Strategic Plan. <br /> <br />I. Current and Future Activities - based on state fiscal year considerations these activities can <br />be considered in two timeframes. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />a. December 2004 to June 30, 2005 - During this timeframe the SWSI team will be <br />focusing on finalizing activities associated with the fimil report. Based on feedback <br />obtained during the last 18 months the team recommends that we conduct another <br />round of Basin Roundtable meetings to discuss the fmal report an obtain additional <br />feedback on data, methodologies, findings and recommendations. In addition, we <br />anticipate the need to conduct some target outreach to interest groups to build <br />additional consensus on findings and recommendations. Based on these efforts we <br />anticipate some refinement to data and will completed project documentation <br />including data and data base development. <br /> <br />Flood Protection.
