General discussion followed. <br /> <br />Motion was made by George Pughe and seconded by Silmon Smith <br />that it is the sense of the Colorado Water Conservation Board that <br />no useful purpose would be served at this time by inviting the ~Mc <br />Farland Commi ttee"to hold hearings in the State of Colorado. <br /> <br />The motion was unanimously passed and declared adopted. <br /> <br />Th3 meeting adj ourned at 5 dO p. m. to reconvene at 9100 ,a. m., <br />October 28, 1944. <br /> <br />Saturday - October 28, 1944 <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by Vice-Chaiman Chris Wallrich at <br />91'45 a. m., October 28, 1944. <br /> <br />It was moved by Miss Pointer and seconded by Mr. Nelson that <br />the minutes of the meeting of the Board, held July 12-13, 1944, be <br />approved as read. <br /> <br />The motion was unanimously carried and declared adopted. <br /> <br />There ensued a discussion of the question of the payment of the Master's <br />fees and expenses of the North Platte Case (Nebraska v. Wyoming, Colorado, im- <br />pleaded defendant, United States, Intervenor). This discussion involved what <br />position Colorado should take before the Court in apportioning the fees, and <br />the arrangements which should be made by the Colorado Water Conservation Board. <br />through budget arrangements, appropriations and otherwise to share such fees <br />when they are finally fixed by, the Court. <br /> <br />ili <br />I <br />! <br /> <br />It was moved by Mr. Pughe and seoonded by Mr. Nelson that the <br />Board authorize the Attorney General, the Director, and the attorney <br />for the Colorado Water Conservation Board to use their best judgment <br />on the question of fees and expenses of the Special Master in the <br />North 7latte Case (Nebraska v. Wyoming, Colorado, impleaded defendant. <br />United States, intervenor) as conditions develop. ' <br /> <br />The motion was unanimously oarried and declared adopted. <br /> <br />Mr. Nelson was then asked to make a statement regarding the aotion of <br />the State Planning Commission respecting the policy of the State with respeot <br />to reoreational and fish and wildlife facilities where water conservation <br />projeots are involved. Mr. Nelson reported that he had disoussed the matter <br />with the State Planning COllUllission and he was authorized by that Commission <br />to discuss it wi th the state Game and Fish Commission and prepare recommendations <br />to be presented to the State Planning' Commission at the ir next meeting which <br />will be,'held on Deoember 6, 1944. He further stated that he planned to dis- <br />ii:!; cuss the problem with the Executive COllUllittee of the Colorado County Com- <br />':'i:! missioners Association and then formulate a plan to be presented to the State <br />),J, Planning Conunission and thereafter to other interested State agenoies suoh as <br />1'1,1, the Colorado Water Conservation Board and the State Land 13oard.
