you.
were
that

I have forgotten how many. Five of the lakes, I think, that
previously submitted are omitted from this recommendation, and
is with the concurrence of our staff and the Division of wildlife.

I don't know whether there is anything else from Jackson county Or not.

The final recommendations also contain a little for Boulder and Larimer
Counties. As far as we know, there is no controversy about that.

I

MR. STAPLETON: Is there any discussion by members .of the Board about
any of these final appropriations?

MR. FETCHER:. Mr. Chairman, I would mOve .for their approval.

MR. SHERMAN: Second.

MR. STAPLETON: It has been regularly moved and seconded. Is there
any further discussion? (NO response.) All those in favor signify by
saying "Aye." (unanimous ayes.) Those opposed? (NO response.)

The final streamflows are approved.

(See Appendix B)

Now, we go to preliminary streamflows.

Duane Helton and I have been working with the Fish and Game and the.
staff and the Denver Water Board for some time on a few of these appro-
priations. It is my "understanding that the Denver Water Board has
retained outside legal consultants to advise them. I have been advised
by the representatives of the Denver Water Board that they would like
to postpone consideration of some of them tOday. I have not talked.
with the Fish and Game, but I think it is the thought of this board
that if they can resolve their difficulties without having to bring it
before the Board, then that is the Board's desire. I think the~Water
Board and the Fish and Game would agree on that statement.

So I feel some embarrassment, representing Denver, that this has been
delayed. I have -been assured by Mr. Bob Fis'cher that the report will be
out by the end of this month and that; hopefully, the matter. can be
resol ved :OY! the meeting on January 17.

I have also told the Denver Water Board that if it isn't resolved by
that time, however long it takes, we will perhaps take it up then. And
that ought to be encouragement for both sides to get it worked out. I
hope we will do that.

So Mr. Fischer, which are the ones that you would like to have postponed
at this time?

I

MR. ROBERT FISCHER: Mr. Chairman, we would like to have postponed all
of the recommended preliminary flows found on page 3, located in Grand
County attributable to the Williams Fork River and its tributaries.
That includes all of them on that page.

MR. STAPLETON: So that that would really leave only, as I see it,
these in Pitkin county on the preliminary list.

-20-
