<br />Orchard City Irrigation District <br />March 16-17, 2004 <br /> <br />Agenda Item 25g <br /> <br />The Orchard City Irriaation District <br />The OCID is a Colorado Irrigation District formed in accordance with CRS 37-41-101. There are _ <br />403 shareholders ("acre holders"), and 2,730 bonded acres within the District. The OCID has ,., <br />the power to set annual assessments to be paid directly by the shareholders, or collected <br />through the county tax collection process. District shareholders have voted to proceed with the <br />CWCB loan. The no-action alternative, ,., <br />2, Rehabilitate only the worst 600 feet of the Dry Creek Transfer Ditch ($83,200,) <br />3, Rehabilitate 920 feet of the Dry Creek Transfer Ditch, and the Circle Ditch HG ($102,457.) <br /> <br />Alternative No, 1 was considered unacceptable since it means the District could not deliver its <br />full water right for storage in the Fruit Growers Reservoir. <br />Alternative NO.2 was ruled out because it was not a permanent solution to the problem, <br />Alternative NO.3 was selected since it is considered to be the least costly reliable approach, <br /> <br />The selected alternative, Alternative No.3, involves rehabilitation of 920 feet of the Transfer <br />Ditch by placing it in a 48" ADS plastic pipeline. Two concrete vault structures will be <br />constructed at comer points, and a concrete transition structure will be constructed to connect <br />to an existing upstream metal pipe, A culvert under the county road will be replaced with the <br />new pipeline, and a 4-foot parshall flume installed into an existing concrete chute structure, The <br />U.S, Bureau of Reclamation will pay for installation of an automatic water level measuring <br />devise adjacent to the parshall flume, The Circle Ditch headgate, located in the dam, will be <br />rehabilitated by installing a stainless steel replacement gate. <br /> <br />The NRCS has completed engineering designs for the project. <br /> <br />The project is currently under construction, with completion scheduled for March 2004. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />2 <br />
