- Floodplain Designation and Approvals

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

. Consent Agenda Item 4-2.a through 4-2.d includes 4 floodplain studies proposed for CWCB action.
A brief summary of the studies is presented below.

I. FPR 00-510: City of Northglenn. Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs) dated March 31,
1981 were prepared by FEMA and includes approximate and detailed floodplain information
for several stream in the city. These maps supersede the 1978 FIRM maps that were previously
designated by the CWCB. The requested action for the Northglenn maps is designation and
approval by the Board in order to meet statutory requirements.

2. FPR 99-51 I: City of Lake wood. Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs) dated January 3, 1983
were prepared by FEMA and includes approximate and detailed floodplain information for
several streams in the city. Some of the floodplain information is not accurate or not acceptable
to the community. A new FEMA Flood Insurance Study is needed, and meetings have been
conducted with interested parties to discuss the city's floodplain mapping needs. The requested
action for this report is temporary designation and approval by the Board of the 1983 FIRM
maps until such time that a new study is published.

3. FPR 00-497: Town of Parker. Flood Insurance Study (FIS) dated July 4, 1989 was prepared
by FEMA and includes approximate and detailed floodplain information for various flooding
sources within the town, The requested action for this report is designation and approval of
selected streams in the 1989 FIS by the Board in order to meet statutory requirements. In
addition, it is requested that other stream reaches in 1989 FIS be acknowledged and rescinded
by the Board because they have been superseded by more current information.
