.

irrigated pasture; and there is a limited amount of gardens, flowers, shrubs, and
trees. Most irrigation is from sprinklers using the water pressure from the
community system. Some water is consumed by watering domestic animals,
estimated to average 25 horses or cows.

Consumptive Use Estimate: The irrigated area determined from the
POA field survey was used along with consumptive use data to estimate the total
consumptive use from the community well. It is estimated that for 1998 the
consumptive use will be 86.68 acre-feet. This number was obtained using the
fOllowing assumptions:

Area Irrig.
Acres
13.75 Slue Grass - Lawns
38.50 Brome - Pasture Grass
2.75 Gardens, Shrubs, Trees
Animal C.U. The monthly consumption
has been as follows:

.

TIME PERIOD
October - December 96
January 97
February 97
March 97
April 97
May 97
June 97
July 97
August 97
September 97
October 97
November 97
December 97

GALLONS X 1000
3,686
132
127
1,130
1,897
5,071
4,598
9,880
5,184
4,866
3,776
136
90

ACRE-FEET
11.31
.41
.39
3.47
5.82
15.56
14.11
30.32
15,91
14.93
11.59
.42
.28

TOTAL CALENDAR YEAR 1997 113.21

Assuming crop consumptive use is 70 percent for water applied with sprinklers,
then for 1997 the consumption would have been 79.24 acre-feet. This amount is less than
the 86,68 acre-feet estimated from acreage data. In the future the metered data will be the
most accurate way to estimate the consumptive use.

.
