JACKSON: If it's in order, Mr. Chairman, I would like to make the
same motion. in addition to whatever you ,did on Trinchera. I:think
you passed it. I think the same things are present there. It's
another agricultural project, and perhaps Yamcolo. We ought to at
least discuss it.

MR. STAPLETON: I think we'll try. to take one more project before
lunch. Hotchkiss. '

MR. SPARKS: Mr. Chairman, this isa new. project submitted to the
Board for the first time. The town of Hotchkiss is having problems
similar to the town of Hayden.

There's been considerable new coal development taking place in the North
Fork of the Gunnison River drainage. Hotchkiss is in the middle of. it.
The mayor of Hotchkiss is here to speak to this point.

MR. CONNELLY: Mr. President and members of the Board, I sure appreciate
being here and I have with'us our :town engineer Mr. Jim Flood, who if
there is any technical thing which I am low on, he,can certainly answer.
I won't take up very much of your time. It's getting pretty close to
lunch.

I

The first part of this project is to be financed by the FHA and we need
the second phasing, which is to be funded by the Colorado Water Con-
servation Board, very badly to fulfill our needs, and they!re getting
to the point of almost desperation in the town.
