Project Administration ,
The project is directed by the Board staff with tec~cal reviews provided through a Technical
Advisory Committee (Committee). The Committee has a makeup of nine (9) representatives from
local, state, and federal government agencies and professionals with expertise on the subject matter

in the manual. The Project is scheduled for compl~tion on March 31, 2004.

Staffwill discuss with the Board the overall intent lof the manual and a procedure/framework for the
presentation of the proposed action items in Chapt~r 2 - CWCB Policies.

This chapter will contain CWCB policy statement~ on the recommended practices for: floodplain
mapping, floodway, stonnwater, conveyance systeins, detention, irrigation impacts, basin surface
water hydrology, and other flood protection related items. Also, CWCB policies dealing with
potential discrepancies between this manual and o~er state agency manuals and standards will be
provided and defined. The contractor will provide! an assessment of related issues regarding the
Board's existing Rules and Regulation for floodplllin designations and make revision
recommendations. '

No action will be requested at the September CWqB meeting. Staffwill advise the Board on the .,
subject matter/topics that will be presented in Chapter 2 following a project review meeting with the
committee on September 17, 2003. i
