The recommended work plan includes streams and lakes containing cutthroat trout, streams and
lakes where the initial data has already been collected, stream and lakes associated with possihle
donations/acquisitions and streams and lakes associated with a state park, We are recommending
that Water Divisions 6 and 7 continue to be the focus ofthe appropriation process in the year
2005, In addition, we recommend that a handful of streams and lakes located in Water Division
4, which were identified last year, also be included in the proposed work plan, These stream
segments include the upper San Miguel River Basin stream segments recommended by the San
Miguel County Commissioners and the USPS and BLM stream segments identified in the
GMUG process, Staff also is requesting that the data collection agencies begin collecting the
required field data for those streams and lakes in Water Divisions 1 and 5 this year (2004),
allowing the agencies approximately two years to assemble and evaluate the necessary data,
