Patterson, one of the above named com- <br />missioners, is on the regular payroll of the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board as its chief engineer, the compensation fix- <br />ed for such commissioners applies only to the other three co~ <br />missioners; and <br /> <br />vYHEREAS, it appears that the services of such commission- <br />ers require specialized knowledge of the Arkansas River and of <br />important interste,te problems; and <br /> <br />\TIiEREAS, the Board after discussion with tvro of these com- <br />missioners, has given the matter full consideration; and <br /> <br />iYHEREAS, the time which will be required for such work can- <br />not now be determined and will of re cessity be of an intermit- <br />tent nature, the compensation must be fixed on a per diem basis; <br /> <br />NOW, TllEREFORE, BE IT P~SOLVE.D by the Colorado Water Con- <br />servation Board that it recommend to the Governor of the State <br />of Colorado that the compensation for the commissioners Henry C. <br />Vidal"Gail L. Ireland and Harry B. Mendenhall be fixed at $50.00 <br />a da~ for the time actually required in connection vdth com- <br />pact negotie,tions on the Arkansas River; that in addition there- <br />tc, all of the last named commissioners and Charles L. Patterson <br />be allowed their necessary traveling expenses and subsistence <br />while engaged in their duties as such commissioners awa~from <br />their respective headquarters; and that such compensation, to- <br />gether with expenses and subsistence when approved by the <br />Governor, be paid, as and when incurred, by vouchers drawn upon <br />the funds of The Colorado Water Conservation Board. <br /> <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that these reoommendations be sub- <br />rni tted to the Governor of the State of Colorado for his approval. <br /> <br />and <br />the <br /> <br />The adoption of the motion was seconded by Geo. It vms explained that <br />the annual assessment against the State of Colorado for the present year <br />for the maintenance and operation of the National Reolamation Association <br />was $2,500; that the Colorado Director of the Association would be able <br />to collect the sum of $1,700 from various individuals and water user asso- <br />
