Regi'Onal Planning Cemmission and t'O the govern-
ing b'Oards of all cities and c'Ounties covered
by the said corps of Engineers fl'O'Od plain in-
f'Ormati'On rep'Orts. ' "

stand - would this be z'Oned as a flood plain
and there ceuld be na construction on it? Is
this the type of zaning that's required?"

"Yes. In each area, the municipality has
a s'Omewhat different appr'Oach ta it but they
actually specify the uses t'O which flo'Od plains
can be put. I see Mr. Smith is here fr'Om the
Inter-County Regi'Onal Planning C'Ommissien and
he may have some remarks on this."

we may. I am concerned about zoning and then
cutting back an the zoning when the Chatfield
carnes aboard and having peaple wha are inter-
ested in parks and recreati'On say that this is
parks and recreati'On and we can't change the
z'Oning. I am interested in that aspect as well
as anything else you might want to say on this."

"Mr. Chairman, members of the Board, as Mr.
Sparks has indicated, the state law requires
that priar t'O the adoption of any regulations
for fl'O'Od plain zoning, the State Water C'On-
servatian Board must designate the areas that
are t'O be within the flead plain. The z'Oning
regulations are still prepared and adapted
locally by the lacal jurisdictions and the
zoning itself is not prepared, as I understand
it, by the state. Many of the local jurisdic-
ti'Ons have had some type of z'Oning regulations
