We have also t~ied to address new interest groups, the special interest
groups that have popped up with various programs and projects, water,
projects in the state, and the education community, which has expanded
its water resource programs into the engineering field, into, the
biological sciences field, the physical sciences field. Everyone is
starting to get interested in water.

(Whereupon the following slide presentation was made.)

I

I would like to show you now what we are trying to do.

We have two facets of our education program. We have an education and
we have an information program. That clarifies it for me a little bit
more. For the purpose of this discussion, I am going to designate
education and information ,for you.

Our information program revolves around, our expanded facilities at our
offices. Our offices are at the corner of Mississippi. and Colorado
Boulevard. It is 1100 South Colorado Boulevard in the World Savings
Building., This has given us the opportunity to expand or do 'many of
our newsletters in our office, do the writing and production in our
office. It has also made it possible to have a large collection of
reference materials so that when we,get a phpne call or when we have
visitors, we are able ,to give the information.out to the visitors on a
person-to~person, one-to-one ,kind of basis.,

We also have the facilities to start pamphlet production, and we have
done many, many pamphlets for our, conferences coming up. We appreciate
this opportunity, because it is,quite an expense if we have to do it
out,of office. But the office facilities that we have; we can advertise
our conferences and send them out not only to our members but tosthe'
public as well. You will see here two of our pamphlets advertising our
conferences, but also our film inventory, which also is a part of our
information program. That was developed about a year ago, and it
describes all of the, films that are available in the state of Colorado
on water resources ona free basis. These are films that are available
not only through the state office, but are available through federal
offices and local offices.

We are hoping to develop a speaker's bureau so that when we have I
conferences or when people ,come to us who are organizing conferences
in other areas of the state, we will be able to give them the names
of individuals that can speak on a variety of:topics. Some of the
conferences that we have organized to date are the water fishery systems
conference, which was ,in November of last year, ,and this basically
explored the ~oncepts of which irrigation methods were efficient, or
can efficiency be determined at all? We were very pleased with the

-24-
