~..J..L'"

MR. STAPLJ::TON:

MR. GOSLIN:

MR. STAPLETON:

MR. SPARKS:

MR. BARRETT:

Wyoming and Utah are in accord with our posi-
tion and in accord with the resolution intro-
duced by Governor Johnson in the Upper Colo-
rado River Commission some two years ago.

That, Mr. Chairman, is all I have to re-
port on that subject."

I

"Ival, would you like to comment on this
at this time?"

"Mr. Chairman, I believe not. I think
Larry has covered the subject very fully."

"Are there any questions or comments on
this item on the agenda? If not, we will
pass to Item #3 which is the 'Narrows Proj-
ect - Progress Report', and the matters
on this which have taken place since our
last meeting. Larry."

"The Board will recall that we requested
an additional $50,000 to our budget commenc-
ing July 1, 1961, in order to complete the
feasibility report on the Narrows Project
within a period of two years after July 1st
of this year. We made our budget presenta-
tion to the Joint Appropriations Committee
some two or three weeks ago and the reaction
there was quite favorable. We believe the
Legislature will appropriate that money.
That will be turned over to the Bureau of
Reclamation in order that they can accelerate
the project feasibility report and have it
ready for field review, at least, within two
years from July 1st.

The Bureau of Reclamation, through their
own funds, will attempt to accelerate the
program. They presently have scheduled in
their budget the sum of approximately $88,000
for this coming fiscal year. I believe that
was budgeted before we got i~to this new plan.
Is that so, Mr. Barrett?"

I

"Yes, that's right."
