"Mr. Chairman, I would like to ask Mr.
Barrett, you comment here on a steering com-
mittee on the Cache la poudre and we have
discussed a steering committee on the entire
South Platte comprehensive survey, presumably
if you get to the Two Forks investigation you
might have interest in that direction, and I
am wondering if you wish steering committees
on each of these separate units or what's
your thought on an overall steering committee?"

"Ne had planned on handling the Cache la
Poudre as a separate unit, not in connection
with the South Platte Basin. Now it may be
that before we are through we will want to
merge them. I don't know. But for our guid-
ance in the Cache la poudre Basin, the water
users themselves agreed to appoint a steer-
ing committee from among their members. As I
recall, that steering committee was to be
composed of one representative of Fort Collins,
one of Greeley, two of the water users asso-
ciation and one Federal and one State repre-
sentative."

"Any other comments from members of the
Board on Region 7's report? Mr. Ogilvie."

"There are two items, Mr. Chairman, that
Mr. Barrett was not aware of in connection
with his studies, that have been handled at
the regional level. One involving the nego-
tiations for the sale of water to Crown
Zellerbach out of Green Mountain Reservoir;
the other involving studies in connection with
the Colorado-Big Thompson Project to determine
whether those facilities are capable of addi-
tional diversions should water be available
for diversion and should it be a state policy
that such diversions were possible.

With respect to the negotiations on
Crown Zellerbach, I think we are at last mak-
ing some significant progress in that respect
