take a matter of two or three weeks, after
we know we have the appropriation, for our
own committee to get together to select these
people. "

"Any comment?"

"Mr. Chairman, I have one comment on the
South Platte for this. One group did not
appear at the previous meeting, a group from
the Wiggins critical area (as we use the term
on ground water) and Al English and Don Rich-
ardson bave prepared some material for pre~ '
sentation to the Board today but they have a
ground blizzard going on out there and
couldn't get in. I suggested that the
material they had be forwarded to the Direc-
tor so that we could incorporate it in the
record, perhaps, somewhere." (See Appendix
A for this report.)

"I wonder, Mr. Chairman, following this
meeting, if the three of us could not get
together and lay some rules for the actual
selection of these committee members?"

"I would like to get the thinking of the
Board as to the number. Larry and I have
been talking about ten or twelve as being
the maximum on that steering committee and
I couldn't imagine using the words 'steering
committee' if we had many more than that.
Does anybody have any firm feeling on that?
Your know, at the last meeting, you left this
partially to our discretion and from the
present thinking, I know Larry is anxious for
all the communities outside of Denver proper
to decide among themselves on one, and at the
maximum, two representatives. I would think,
from my own viewpoint, that if we keep it as
low as possible and still satiSfy as many
people, we will be better off.

Does anybody have any thoughts on that?
Are there any more comments from the members
of the Board on the Narrows Project?"
