There are <br />several problems that need to be answered as <br />to the operation of that entire river after the <br />Curecanti project has been constructed and <br />these problems cannot be answered unless there I <br />is some technical information presented to.the <br />people who are most concerned. Therefore, it <br />is the purpose of this group - and my purpose - <br />to request that assistance be given this group <br />by the Colorado Water Conservation Board's <br />technical staff in developing facts and statis- <br />tics that can be used in their final deter- <br />mination of those water rights. <br /> <br />We have with us Judge Dan Hughes from <br />Montrose; Jack Hughes, who is. the secretary for <br />the Tri-County; Mr. Beach, who is a member of <br />the Board of Directors of the Tri-County (I <br />think also second vice-president); Mr. Harris, <br />who is the manager of the Uncompahgre Valley <br />Water Users Association. We also have Mr. <br />Craig Goodwin here from Gunnison, representing <br />the Upper Gunnison Basin. I had a phone call <br />from Mr. Dutcher a few minutes ago, or an hour <br />or so ago( saying they have been waiting since <br />eight o'clock at the Gunnison airport to try to <br />get off the ground over there and also land in <br />Denver to appear at this meeting - a group from <br />Gunnison - but due to the weather they have had <br />to cancel the flight so they can't be here. <br />However, I think Mr. Goodwin can speak for the <br />Upper Gunnison Group. <br /> <br />At this time any of those people you <br />would like to call on, I think would give you <br />the story." <br /> <br />"Is there a spokesman? But before we can . <br />even start discussing them we do need this <br />technical information that Mr. Peterson has <br />told you about. <br />
