<br />B. 004 94 <br /> <br />CREATING THE ARKANSAS RIVER <br />COORDINATING COMMITTEE <br />PAGE 3 <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />g. the Governor, at his discretion, may appoint <br />up to three other individuals to the <br />committee. <br /> <br />2. The committee shall be co-chaired by the State <br />Engineer and the director of the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board. <br /> <br />3. The Arkansas River Coordinating Committee shall <br />provide a forum for ensuring that affected <br />interests in the basin coordinate among <br />themselves and work with, and provide advice to, <br />state agencies charged with responding to the <br />ruling in the Kansas vs. Colorado lawsuit and <br />carrying out other projects and programs in the <br />basin. The committee shall help to identify <br />creative, coordinated, equitable, effective and <br />economical actions related to the full scope of <br />its responsibilities. <br /> <br />4. <br /> <br />The committee shall have the following <br />responsibilities: <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />a. Provide advice to and coordinate with the <br />State Engineer on the development and <br />implementation of rules relating to the <br />administration of water in the Arkansas <br />River basin, including advice related to: <br /> <br />(1) rules and regulations needed to deal <br />wi th post-compact pumping depletions to <br />useable stateline flows required to <br />meet interstate compact obligations; <br /> <br />(2) rules and regulations needed to deal <br />with pumping depletions to the flow of <br />the Arkansas River in Colorado; and <br /> <br />(3) the state's enforcement of rules and <br />regulations, and any amendment of such <br />rules and regulations as may be needed. <br /> <br />b. <br /> <br />Provide <br />General <br />Engineer <br /> <br />recommendations to the Governor, <br />Assembly, Attorney General, State <br />and Water Conservation Board on an <br /> <br />. <br />
