Develop and evaluate candidates for public comment and Board consideration and <br />action <br />o Develop technical reports containing both biological and hydrologic analyses <br />o Work and coordinate with project stakeholders to collect information, <br />conduct assessments and analyses, and communicate with local citizemy and <br />other interested parties <br />o Resolve legal, technical and programmatic issues, as needed <br />o Conduct negotiations and develop draft agreements, leases and other <br />conveyance documents for Board review and approval and to implement <br />transaction <br />o Prepare and present information to the Board <br />. Resolve issues related to water court applications for acquired water rights as needed <br />. Program outreach and education <br /> <br />Legal Protection <br /> <br />The legal protection efforts of the CWCB staff focus on tracking the water court resume to <br />identify applications that may impact the Board's water rights, and performing those actions <br />necessary to protect the Board's water rights, These efforts support the protection of the <br />CWCB's water rights obtained through new appropriations and acquisitions, <br /> <br />The activities and tasks performed in this regard include: <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. Reviewing the water court resume <br />. Filing statements of opposition (in close coordination with the AGO) <br />. Negotiating protective terms and conditions for decrees (in close coordination with <br />the AGO) <br />. Resolving cases (in close coordination with the AGO) <br />. Litigating cases (in close coordination with the AGO) <br />. Filing, resolving or litigating applications for new appropriations <br />. Filing, resolving or litigating change cases for acquired water rights <br /> <br />Physical Protection <br /> <br />Similar to legal protection, CWCB resources used for this base program element support the <br />protection of water rights obtained through both new appropriations and acquisitions, <br />Physical protection includes the installation and maintenance of selected stream gages <br />throughout the state, the coordination with gage placement and data collection with other <br />gaging entities (e,g" USGS and DWR), and the management of the data collected, Physical <br />protection also includes activities related to tracking and interpreting the data collected for <br />purposes of identifying locations of potential injury and the need for placing calls for the <br />Board's water rights with the SEO, <br /> <br />The activities and tasks performed in this regard include: <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />.
