A BILL FOR AN ACT
1 CONCERNING AUTHORIZATION BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY TO DIVERT
2 GROUND WATER OUTSIDE THE STATE.

States that the general assembly may authorize the
diversion of ground water outside Colorado under conditions
similar to those for granting authorization to divert surface
waters outside the state.

3 ~ it enacted ~ the General Assembly of the State of Colorado:
4 SECTION 1. 37-81-101 (I), Colorado Revised Statutes

5 1973, as amended, is amended to read:

6 37-81-101. Unlawful to divert water for apolication

7 outside of state. (1) the general assembly hereby finds and

8 declares that the location and availability of water in this

9 state varies greatly from place to place and that such

10 variation precludes the reasonable application of general law
