electrical works, electrical facilities, is
about 80 percent completed at this time.

I

Also, I believe most of you are aware of,
and many of you attended the dedication at
Flcuning Gorge in August when Mrs. Lyndon B.
Johnson attended and was principal participant.
The Flaming Gorge powerplant is meeting its
firm contract loads. It is continuing to be
drawn down. On November 29th it had a total
in storage of 1,290,000 acre-feet.

Going on to Navajo Dam, discharge is about
at the rate of 500 c.f.s. The reservoir is
slowly receding. On November 29th it had in
storage about 409,000 acre-feet of water.

We are getting into a rather critical
period as far as reservoir storage is con-
cerned. It is estimated at the present time
in the next six months' period that the inflows
will exceed our water requirements by about 1/2
million acre-feet. We'll reach a very critical
period in about March or April of this coming
year.

I

As far as construction work is concerned
on our Curecanti Project, Blue Mesa Reservoir
and Dam and Powerplant is presently about
80 percent completed; that is, on the prime
contract. The work since the middle of Novem-
ber has essentially stopped, that is, the
earthfill, because of inclement weather. At
Morrow Point Dam the work is not progressing
quite as fast as we would like to see it.
There has been some difficulty in rock slides,
particularly on the left abutment and consid-
erable time has been spent trying to correct
this situation. A lot of rock bolting and
things of that nature have been done. We have
completed all of our core drilling on the
Crystal Reservoir. It is anticipated that in
January 1965 a contract will be let for a
rather difficult access road into this third
dam of the Curecanti Unit. We anticipate that
by late fall we will be calling for construc-
tion of this dam.
