design data in order that they might get in
there and see what those sites were like prior
to snowfall because we expect to issue speci-
fications in the spring so early that access
to the actual sites will not be possible.
So this was a sort of a preview and there was
considerable interest with 18 contractors that
went in there to look the area over.

The exploratory drilling around the rail-
road relocation at Pueblo Reservoir is pro-
gressing in good shape with the Boyles Brothers
Drilling Company handling that work for us.

The design data on the Turquoise Reservoir
and the Sugar Loaf Dam was submitted to the
Chief Engineer in October and those designs
are presently under way.

We have had further meetings with the
representatives of Aurora and Colorado Springs
on the possible integration of their Homestake
Project and portions of the Fryingpan-Arkansas
Project. Those discussions az'e still in a
tentative stage and are progressing as well as
we expected them to. They will be completed
so as not to hamper the work of the construc-
tion on the Fryingpan-Arkansas or the Home-
stake Project next year.

The contract with the Southeastern colo-
rado Water Conservancy District was forwarded
in draft form to the Commissioner and we have
had a number of meetings with the District
Board on that contract and have the language
of the contract pretty well, tentatively, out-
lined. We expect to consummate that contract
very shortly.

We have done one thing that I think is of
particular interest to this Board in the
Fryingpan-Arkansas on phreatophyte control
work in the Arkansas Valley. We have taken the
first steps there to review the situation in
the Valley with a view to coming up with some
sort of a control project in the project areas

I

I
