<br />design data in order that they might get in <br />there and see what those sites were like prior <br />to snowfall because we expect to issue speci- <br />fications in the spring so early that access <br />to the actual sites will not be possible. <br />So this was a sort of a preview and there was <br />considerable interest with 18 contractors that <br />went in there to look the area over. <br /> <br />The exploratory drilling around the rail- <br />road relocation at Pueblo Reservoir is pro- <br />gressing in good shape with the Boyles Brothers <br />Drilling Company handling that work for us. <br /> <br />The design data on the Turquoise Reservoir <br />and the Sugar Loaf Dam was submitted to the <br />Chief Engineer in October and those designs <br />are presently under way. <br /> <br />We have had further meetings with the <br />representatives of Aurora and Colorado Springs <br />on the possible integration of their Homestake <br />Project and portions of the Fryingpan-Arkansas <br />Project. Those discussions az'e still in a <br />tentative stage and are progressing as well as <br />we expected them to. They will be completed <br />so as not to hamper the work of the construc- <br />tion on the Fryingpan-Arkansas or the Home- <br />stake Project next year. <br /> <br />The contract with the Southeastern colo- <br />rado Water Conservancy District was forwarded <br />in draft form to the Commissioner and we have <br />had a number of meetings with the District <br />Board on that contract and have the language <br />of the contract pretty well, tentatively, out- <br />lined. We expect to consummate that contract <br />very shortly. <br /> <br />We have done one thing that I think is of <br />particular interest to this Board in the <br />Fryingpan-Arkansas on phreatophyte control <br />work in the Arkansas Valley. We have taken the <br />first steps there to review the situation in <br />the Valley with a view to coming up with some <br />sort of a control project in the project areas <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br />
