<br />. . <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />" <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />DOLORES WATER CONSERVANCY DISTRICT <br />WETP ACK FEASIBILITY STUDY - SCOPE OF WORK <br /> <br />I. <br /> <br />Detailed evaluation of the quantity and location of water needs, presently and 50 years in <br />the future for irrigation, municipal and industrial, fishery, and other identified needs. - <br />Largely identified, primarily determine specifics of water needs, <br /> <br />II. <br /> <br />Detailed evaluation of all potential water supply sources including: yield of existing and <br />new storage facilities, unused water in the Dolores River basin, utilization of third party <br />water supplies through purchase or lease (e.g. water rights and/or shares), conservation of <br />existing supplies, improved water management and other identified sources. Generally <br />identified but significant work and time to quantify. <br /> <br />III. <br /> <br />Evaluation of the potential to utilize, purchase or lease, existing storage facilities. <br />Significant work and time to develop agreements. <br /> <br />IV, Evaluation of new storage sites upstream of McPhee Reservoir. The Plateau Dam site is <br />the preferred site iffound to be feasible, Beaver Dam site is the second priority if Plateau <br />is not feasible, If neither of those sites are found to be feasible, additional evaluations <br />will be necessary to determine other suitable sites, The evaluations will include <br />field work (about 25% of study cost) to address general geotechnical <br />suitability and aerial photography to develop topography; photography <br />may be taken of all reservoir sites under study but topography <br />prepared only for the most feasible sites. Significant engineering <br />studies and analysis, <br /> <br />V. Evaluation of small storage sites (surfa\:e or alluvium) along the Dolores River upstream <br />of McPhee Reservoir to provide a firm water supply for plans of augmentation and <br />exchange plans. The evaluations may include geophysical data collection <br />and test drilling of alluvial sites as well as field work for reservoir sites <br />described in item IV. Test drilling is very expensive (about $40,000 <br />for Rico alluvium). <br /> <br />VI. Evaluation of storage sites along the Dove Creek Canal (a facility of the Dolores Project) <br />to provide water during periods the canal is not operated or is at full capacity for existing <br />uses. These sites include, though not limited to, Sharps Creek reservoir and Monument <br />Creek reservoir with evaluations similllr to those described for the reservoirs in item IV. <br />The evaluations will include field work to address general geotechnical <br />suitability and aerial photography to develop topography if included in <br />the final plan. Significant engineering studies and analysis. <br /> <br />VII. Evaluation of alternate facilities to deliver water to the needed locations using existing <br />and new facilities. The facilities could include pipelines, canals, pumps, etc.. <br />Engineering evaluation of faCilities that might be included in the <br />alternative plans.
