<br />163 <br /> <br />Mr. Tipton discussed the proposed Chatfield Reservoir, a feature <br />of the proposed South Platte Flood Control Project which is now before <br />the Congress. He said this reservoir, located above Denver on the South <br />Platte River, is now being restudied as a possible multiple-purpose project <br />feature. If the Board approves, he said conferences would be held with <br />local affected interests, to work out a program which would not interfere <br />with present water uses, and a modified plan drafted for consideration of , <br />the Board. <br /> <br />It was moved Qy Mr. Headlee and seconded.by Mr. Cross, <br />that the Director and his advisers take up the Chatfield <br />matter with interested parties, and report back to the Board <br />with recommendations. <br /> <br />On vote, the motion carried, and was declared unanimously <br />adopted. <br /> <br />The Board took up the report of the Bureau of Reclamation on the <br />proposed Florida Project, and the State's official comments thereon. <br />The Director explained that this report was in the same procedural <br />position as the Pine River Extension report. Spokesman for the Florida <br />group was A. fl. McDaniel,.attorney, who said that the District was new, <br />but its members favored construction of a dam as soon as possible. The <br />project could be designated as one of the participating projects in the <br />Colorado River Storage Project plan. His suggestions were approved for <br />inclusion in the draft of the proposed State comments on the project <br />report of the Bureau of Reclamation. <br /> <br />It was moved by Judge Hughes, and seconded by Mr. Smith, <br />that the official State com~ents on the Florida Project report <br />of the Bureau of Reclamation, as prepared by the Director and <br />submitted to the Board and as amended by the suggestions of <br />Mr. McDaniel, be approved by the Colorado Water Conservation <br />Board. <br /> <br />On vote, the motion carried, and was declared unanimously <br />adopted. <br /> <br />The Board resumed consideration of the matter of legal assistance <br />for the Board and its staff.
