8. Such other business as may come before the Board.

The first matter to come before the Board was consideration of a
petition signed by approximately 190 persons of the Fort Morgan, Colorado,
area, favoring immediate construction of a dam on the South Platte River at
the "Narrows" site. The Director read the petition, for the record, as follows:

TO: THE COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD

I

We, the undersigned, being residents and/or owners of property
in the county of Morgan, State of Colorado, in favor of the location
and completion of a darn on the South Platte River at the Narrows in
Morgan County, Colorado, and being aware of the controversy initi-
ated by some interests with the view of delaying and perhaps de-
stroying, the said Narrows Dam project, do hereby respectfully'
petition that you overrule and disregard toe objections to the
locating of said Dam at the site, known as "The Narrows," recommended
by the U. S. Bureau of Reclamation, and we urge that you immediately
accept and approve the recommendations of said project, and request
that you further recommend and urge that construction of the same
be started at once toward the development of the Narrows Unit of
the Missouri River Basin Project.
