<br />COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD <br />823 State Centennial Building <br />1313 Sherman Street <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br /> <br />December 1980 <br /> <br />APPLICATION - STATE WATER PROJECT <br /> <br />Aspen Project <br /> <br />The Board of County Commissioners of Pitkin County and the <br />City of Aspen have submitted an application for a project to the <br />Board. A possible feasibility study would have to address the <br />following, as a minimum: <br /> <br />(a) Modification to present ditch facilities <br />with possible pipeline and siphon <br />installations. <br /> <br />(b) Integration of municipal and irrigation <br />water rights. <br /> <br />(c) Disposal of urban sanitary wastes, with <br />possible land treatment facilities. <br /> <br />(d) Construction of a small storage reservoir. <br /> <br />(e) Construction of a hydropower unit, if feasible. <br /> <br />(f) The economic feasibility of the project as <br />described in (a)-(e) with possible engineering, <br />technical, economic and administrative <br />restraints, as they may be determined from <br />the proposed evaluation. <br /> <br />Contacts have been made with Wright-McLaughlin Engineers who <br />are preparing a preliminary proposal. Proposal has been reviewed <br />by the entity and will be forwarded to CWCB and legal council for <br />final approval. <br /> <br />Preliminary feasibility study cost $150,000. Possible state <br />(CWCB) participation $75,000. <br />
