DRAFT
8/S/8l

LETTER TO ENTITIES

WITH FEASIBILITY STUDIES UNDER WAY

Dear Sir:

Over the past several months, the Colorado Water Conservation

Board has been reviewing the objectives to be served by the

Board's construction fund program. At its January 16, 1981,

meeting, the Board decided to temporarily suspend the processing
of applications for investigations pending completion of this

review.

As you know, the Colorado Water Conservation Board is already

participating in the conduct of a feasibility investigation of

your proposed project. This investigation will be completed as

originally planned. However, you should be advised that the Board

may, as a result of the review which is under way, conclude that

your proposed project would not serve the priority objectives to
which the Board believes the construction fund program should be

addressed. In this event, the Board will not recommend your

project for authorization by the General Assembly despite the fact
that a feasibility investigation will have been completed.
I will keep you advised of the Board's deliberations in this

matter. If you have any questions, please feel free to call upon

me.

Sincerely,

J. William McDonald
Director

JWM:tam
