A new trans- <br /> <br />mission pipeline is also needed to sustain the distribution of water <br /> <br />,when the original transmission pipeline has to be shut down for <br /> <br />maintenance and repairs. <br /> <br />fQgB~~!_STAT~~ <br /> <br />On JanuarY 5, 1979, and subsequantly on July 25, 1980, the Ute <br /> <br />Water Conservancy District filed an application for financial assist- <br /> <br />ance from the Colorado Water Conservation Board Construction Fund fpr <br /> <br />a proposed project. The district subsequently agreed to co-fund a <br /> <br />feasibility report on the project with the Colorado Conservation <br /> <br />Board (CWCB). This report has been prepared and submitted to the <br /> <br />CWCB by Western Engineers, Inc., the district's consulting engineers <br /> <br />in Grand Junction, Colorado. The report concludes that, in order to <br /> <br />eliminate the serious problems stated earlier in this summary, new <br /> <br />tranemission lines and additional storage tanks are needed, as well <br /> <br />as the need to loop some of the north area mains in the distribution <br /> <br />system. <br /> <br />~BQ~Q~~Q_~BQJEf! <br /> <br />The proposed project is in two phases: <br />Phase I includes: <br /> <br />(al A 36 inch line from the treatment plant to 29 3/4 Road north <br /> <br />of 1-70. <br /> <br />(b) A 24 inc~ line from the end of the 36 inch line in (a) above <br /> <br />south to tie into an existing 18 inch line on F Road. <br /> <br />(cl A 30 inch line from the end of the 36 inch line in (al above, <br /> <br />west to Horizon drive to tie into existing 18 inch and 8 inch <br /> <br />lines. <br /> <br />- 2 - <br />
