<br />Conservation Bill; 2) Basin of Origin - Senator Cassidy's; and 3) Basin of Origin - <br />Senator Ament's, The Satellite Monitoring Bill passed the Senate Ag Committee, and is <br />on the fast track. No action was taken. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />4f. Water Resources and Power Authority (10:45 - 10:46 a.m.) <br /> <br />Dan Law reported that questions are still being raised for some funding of projects <br />because the legislature is reviewing Amendment I and how it relates to the Authority. <br />The Authority is working on a joint resolution, SJR-93-7, Law reported there are 39 new <br />projects, totalling about $230,000,000, and 8 project deletions, representing about <br />$8,000,000. The Authority is contemplating funding with the Southern Water Supply <br />Project later this year, and there may be a small loan to Alamosa, No action was taken, <br /> <br />Sa. 1993 Water Convention - Review & Evaluation of Convention (10:46 - 12:00 p.m,) <br /> <br />Bob Ward provided an overview of the proceedings and what they will contain. Salazar <br />discussed the outcome of the Convention in terms of listing and rating of ideas and <br />strategies as well as results of a survey by Convention participants. Proposed <br />investigations for enhancing the Front Range Metro Water Supply were presented by Ken <br />Salazar, Bob Weaver, Larry Simpson and John Akolt. The three solutions being looked <br />at for enhancing Front Range Metro Water Supply are: <br /> <br />o Barr Lake Proposal comprised of various irrigation companies; <br />o Integration of opportunities through the Northern Colorado Water <br />Conservancy District with the water supply systems for the Denver metro <br />area; and <br />o Conjunctive use of groundwater and surface water in the Denver metro <br />area, <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />All of the speakers supported the idea, but generally acknowledged there were a number <br />of issues that needed to be discussed and resolved including involvement by all necessary <br />entities, municipal and agricultural concerns, modeling, funding sources, and project costs. <br />Formation of a Front Range Water Task Force was suggested, and the urgency for <br />initiation of this proposal was recognized, Due to the timing of this agenda item, further <br />discussion was postponed until Thursday, January 21, 1993. <br /> <br />5b, 1993 Water Convention - Scoping Report Progress and Recommendation to <br />Legislature (12:00 - 12:02 p,m,) <br /> <br />Due to the time frame of the meeting, and the status of the report, this agenda item was <br />deferred to the next meeting of the CWCB on February 19, 1993, <br />Public Comment on Matters for Discussion in Executive Session' (12:02 - 12:30 p.m.) <br /> <br />8. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Tom Eggert, Commissioner from Arapahoe County gave a presentation regarding Union <br /> <br />4 <br />
