The focus was on common interests, relevant <br />recommendations of the recent WGAfWSWC report (WSW #1674), and federal budget priorities. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />The Council considered two new and four sun-setting positions related to drought, protecting <br />water quality and permitting water transfers under EPA's National Pollutant Discharge <br />Elimination System (NPDES), Federal non-Tribal fees in general adjudications, and <br />Reclamation's Water Conservation Field Services Program and "Bridging-the-Headgate" <br />Partnership. <br /> <br />The fall meeting will be held October 4-5 in Sheridan, Wyoming. Agendas will be available <br />soon. <br /> <br />WSWC Water Rights Adjudication Conference Scheduled: Washington State is hosting the <br />annual Water Rights Adjudication Conference October 9-11 in Seattle. For more information you can visit their Event <br />Website at httn://www.c1e.comldev/nroduet info.nhp?prodncts id=724 <br /> <br />Groundwater Council Hears Mixed Report on Supply: On June 22, Brian Conway of the <br />Arizona Department of Water Resources gave the Groundwater Users Advisory Council in <br />Arizona a short presentation about the department's Aquifer Monitoring Program. Between 1999 <br />and 2005, a six-year study was completed with 101 points monitored to examine both the depth <br />of water and the gravity - both the water level and the mass of water were measured. The program started in 1958, and has been <br />increasing each years, until rainmaking veterans at China's Meteorological Sciences Academy <br />now boast that China has the largest rainmaking operation in the world. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />12 <br />
