'v <br />~ <br />May 15,2000 <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Consent Agenda Items 4-3.a through 4-3.d, May 22-23, 2000, Board Meeting _ <br />Floodplain Designation and Approvals <br /> <br />EXECUTIVE SUMMARY <br /> <br />Consent Agenda Items 4-3.a through 4-3.d include 4 floodplain studies proposed for CWCB action. <br />A brief summary of the studies is presented below, <br /> <br />L FPR 00-516: City and County of Denver. Flood Insurance Study (FIS) dated March 1996 <br />was prepared by FEMA and includes approximate and detailed floodplain information for <br />multiple streams in Denver. The requested action for the Denver maps is designation and <br />approval by the Board in order to meet statutory requirements. <br /> <br />2. FPR 00-517: City and County of Denver. Flood Insurance Study (FIS) dated September <br />1998 was prepared by FEMA and includes approximate and detailed floodplain information for <br />multiple streams in the City, The requested action for this 1992 Denver study is designation <br />and approval by the Board in order to meet statutory requirements. <br /> <br />3, FPR 00-518: Douglas County and Town of Parker. Flood Hazard Area Delineation, Oak <br />Gulch and Lemon Gulch dated February 2000 was prepared by CH2MHill under contract with <br />the Urban Drainage and Flood Control District (UDFCD). This study includes detailed <br />floodplain information for Oak Gulch, Lemon Gulch, and an unnamed tributary within the <br />Cherry Creek basin. This study provides floodplain information that is more detailed and <br />accurate than the existing Zone A (approximate) floodplain delineations shown on the Douglas <br />County Flood Insurance Rate Maps. This study has been reviewed and endorsed by the <br />UDFCD, Town of Parker, Douglas County, and the consulting engineer. <br />
