These sites include Rangely, Rifle, Collbran
and Meeker (See Figure 3). Table 4 shows the water year and the percent of average
precipitation recorded at each site.

I 4

Tabe : Precioitation Data as a oercentage of Average.
Year Rangely Rifle Collbran Meeker
1976-77 72% 71% 76%
1977-78 116% 95%
1978-79 105% 118% 102%
1979-80 106% 113%
1980-81 168% 129% 119% 121%
1981-82 177% 139% 131% 140%
1982-83 168% 141% 112%

(I) Indicates missing data.

Table 4 shows the wide variation of precipitation between four relatively close precipitation
sites, the 1976-77 water-year was well below average at three sites, the 1977-78 water-year was
above average for one site and below average for one site, the 1980 - 83 water-years were above
average for all sites. It is staffs opinion that the seven years of stream-flow data analyzed is
representative of average to above average stream-flow. Figure 4 below shows the Fourmile
Creek stream flow for the 1992-1997 time period.
