JENNINGS:

in the pr&sent budget for advance pla1ming
funds for this coming fiscal year."

"Thank you."

"Any further questions from members of the
Board? I think Mr. Smith has a question."

I

"Not a question, Mr. Chairman, but for the
record, since there has been some misunderstand-
ing about the Colorado River Water Conservation
District's position with respect to the Rangely
Project, I want to make it clear that the Dis-
trict is not the sponsor of that project. We
are the coordinator. The study is being financed
by a grant from an oil company. Due to a news-
paper account, they were somewhat alarmed by
the fact that it was reported that the Colorado
River District was the sponsor of that project.
Actually the sponsor will be, if the project is
found to be feasible and they go forward as
planned, that an application w.ill be made for
a Small Projects loan and it will be spo~Qared
by a local group, probably a water c~ancy
district. "

"'Thank you, Mr. Smi th .

Any fuithe~ questions of Mr. Jennings?
Bob, what is the runoff in the last two years
and what' s 'the highest runoff we've had in that
period from '63 and '64? Do you have those
figures approximately?"

"I don' t have those figures exactly. It
would take a little while to look those up."

"The way everybody is working, I am hopiI19"
we will come close to a record year and I was
just curious."

I

"All I can say is, I looked at the forecasts
both from the Weather Bureau and the S.C.S.,
as well as the Bureau, and it appears now that
as of the forecast of February 1st, we are in
the best position since 1957, and with the new
storms we may be approaching a water year
