I <br />would say there is but, again, you are up <br />in the hundred million dollar bracket rapidly <br />when you start talking about diverting water. <br />You are in over a hundred million dollars <br />before you turn around twice. <br /> <br />Next question or comment. <br /> <br />Stanley Hogan. I was interested in <br />the remark of this gentleman over here a <br />while ago. He made the statement that <br />there was more water pumped than when the <br />compact was written -- he was speaking <br />about his area -- than there was in the <br />river. And the question that I am con- <br />cerned with -- it has been partially <br />answered -- is there any relation between <br />ground water and, you might say, the general <br />flow of the river? Is ground water considered <br />a tributary of any river or can they just <br />go and pump -- and they made one statement <br />"Let the river take care of its debt down- <br />stream" and we'll go on pumping for our <br />crops, the natural flow should be diverted. <br />I would like to know wbat the state officials <br />think about that. <br /> <br />That is one reason that the Ground Water <br />
