The project is tentatively scheduled for completion in October of 2001. <br /> <br />This $20,000,000 project is the construction of a new 9,000 acre-foot reservoir northwest of Arvada, The project <br />consists ofa 105-foot high, zoned earth embankment, l'robable Maximum Flood emergency spil1way, with a 30- <br />inch diameter outlet pipe, Tuttle-Applegate, Inc. of Denver and CTLfThompson completed the final design plans, <br />which have been reviewed and approved by the State Engineer's Office. The construction contract was awarded <br />to R,E, Monk from Colorado Springs, Colorado, at a Contract price of $15,000,000, The distribution pipeline <br />from the dam to the Company's treatment plant commenceq construction in October 1999 by Company forces, <br />R.E. Monk commenced construction in March of 2000, witp project completion scheduled for March of 2002, <br />The project is approximately 55% complete. ' <br /> <br />5. West Rhone Lateral Ditch Companv - Lateral Rec!)nstruction Proiect <br />Authorization: Small Project Loan County: Weld - N, of Grand Junction <br />Water Source: Grand Valley Canal P~oject Yield: 2,278 acre feet <br />Terms of Loan: $100,000 @ 3.55% for 30 yrs. Project TYpe: Ditch Lateral Reconst. <br /> <br />This project involves the reconfiguration of the West Illione Lateral Ditch Company's existing lateral, which is <br />currently operated under Lateral 395, West Rhone's current use under Lateral 395 has been abandoned and new <br />lateral and diversion point off the Grand Valley Canal is being constructed, The new lateral involves 1.25 miles <br />of 12" 100 psi plastic pipe on a new alignment and the construction ofa new diversion structure on the Grand <br />Valley Canal. The NRCS, Grand Junction office has completed the design and the project has been awarded to _ <br />EDEX Construction, out of Grand Junction, Colorado. The Contractor has completed the project and the users ... <br />are currently operating it. The project is anticipated to be substantially complete by August I, 2001. <br /> <br />Idaho Springs, Town of Idaho - Idaho Springs Reservoir ~ehabilitation <br />Authorization: HB 98-1189 (jounty: Larimer - S. ofIdaho Springs <br />Water Source: Chicago Creek Project Yield: 230 acre feet <br />Terms of Loan: $955,000 @4.75% for 10 yrs. Project Type: Reservoir Rehabilitation <br /> <br />In 1998 the State Engineer's Office restricted the storage height of the reservoir to be 9-ft. below the crest of the <br />dam, reducing the storage capacity from 230 acre-ft. to 120 acre-ft. The storage restriction was due to excessive <br />seepage and the poor condition of the spil1way, Harrison:Western Construction, and designlbuild group out of <br />Denver, Colorado, was retained by the Town to design and construct the necessary improvements to restore the <br />dam to its original storage capacity of230 acre-feet. The proposed improvements include, constructing a <br />compacted earthfillliner on the upstream slope of the rest1rvoir and floor, construct new toe drains, raise the <br />embankment dam crest by 2,5-ft., place rip rap and liner protection material above the earthfillliner, spil1way <br />repairs, and fill the old borrow pit within the reservoir, H!lffison Western Construction has commenced <br />construction in rehabilitating the dam face and wil1 continue working as weather permits, Project is anticipated <br />to be completed in the fall of 2001. . <br /> <br />7. Highland Ditch Company - Foothil1s Reservoir Dam Rehabilitation <br />Authorization: SB 98-1198 - Severance Tax (::ounty: Boulder - W of Longmont <br />Water Source: St. Vrain River project Yield: 450 ac,ft. <br />Terms of Loan: $1,040,000 @ 4.0% for 30 years Project Type: Dam Rehabilitation <br /> <br />This project is the rehabilitation of Foothills Reservoir dam, located west of Longmont in Boulder County. The e <br />dam has an inadequate spillway and severe seepage throllgh the embankment and has had a storage restriction <br />placed on it by the State Engineer.
