In tuen. <br />those eeseevoies' opeeations and availability of space foe <br />watee conseevation stoeage will be affected by the level to <br />which one teies to hold the flows at the Hendeeson gage on the <br />South Platte Rivee noeth of Denvee. Lowee flows ace sought by <br />downsteeam inteeests seeking to alleviate ovee-banking and <br />eeosion feom high snowmelt eunoff such as was expeeienced in <br />1983 and 1984. Space foe watee conseevation stoeage may have <br />to be saceificed if this is done. <br /> <br />Mr. Scott Tucker. Executive Directoe. Ueban Deainage and <br />Flood Control District. addressed the Board and expressed his <br />concern that excessive releases feom the reservoirs during the <br />spring runoff peeiod would increase already existing.bank <br />erosion and flooding problems on the South Platte River. <br /> <br />Following conclusion of the discussion. Mr. Fueneaux moved. <br />seconded by Mr. Smith. that the staff disteibute the Corps' <br />report to the inteeested parties and consult with them in <br />preparing a recommendation to the Board concerning the target <br />flows at the Henderson gage for the Board's consideration at <br />the next meeting. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Motion adopted unanimously. <br /> <br />With the lunch hour at hand. Mr. McDonald eecommended that <br />the meeting be 'recessed in ordee f~e the Board to go into <br />executive session to consider: <br /> <br />a. Sierra Club v. Block <br />b. Status of litigation <br />c. Negotiation of Indian reseeved water rights claims <br />d. Bar 70 water rights--White Rivee <br /> <br />Ms. Wendy Weiss indicated that the above items weee <br />appropriate for consideration in executive session. <br /> <br />Mr. Robbins moved. seconded by Mr. Weight. that the Boaed <br />go into executive session during lunch. <br /> <br />Chairman Johnston recessed the morning session (January 14) <br />at 12:10 p.m. and announced that the meeting would reconvene at <br />1:40 p.m. <br /> <br />Aqenda Item 11 - Report from Attoenev General on Federal <br />Reserved Water Riqhts Litiqation - Appendix F <br />(in executive session over lunch) <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />-7- <br />
